WHEN SHOULD HEPA FILTERS BE TESTED?
—

  • On-site, prior to use

  • After mechanical maintenance or shutdown

  • After filter replacement

  • Before filter replacements (decommissioning test)

  • After a relocation of workstations or safety cabinets

  • Annually, at a minimum

  • As required by the organisation’s GMP code or regulatory authority

  • In special circumstances, such as a significant change in the work program, or where impaired operation is suspected

WHY TEST HEPA FILTERS?
—

HEPA filter testing is important to verify they are installed correctly, without leaks, due to manufacturing defects or installation workmanship. HEPA filters may begin leaking after a period of time or if the filter becomes loaded. Periodical checks for integrity and pressure drops will significantly reduce teh chance of leakage.

AG&G Services is accredited to perform this test either with DPC or DOP methods, following AS/ISO 14644 3(2021) and AS 1807.6-7(2000) standards.

How Our Air Quality Testing Service Works

Our air quality testing process in Australia is structured, simple, and fully compliant with AS/ISO standards.

01

Site Assessment

We begin with a full site assessment to understand your controlled environment.

02

Professional Air Quality Testing

Our technicians then carry out professional air quality testing using calibrated equipment to measure particle levels, airflow, and contamination risks.

03

Environmental Testing

This is part of our wider environmental testing service, which ensures all systems are functioning correctly.

04

Detailed Reporting

After testing, we provide detailed reports that confirm whether your facility meets required standards.

05

Audit-Ready Results

All results are compiled into an audit-ready format, making compliance simple for managers, engineers, and auditors.

Benefits of Air Quality Testing for Your Business

01

Maintain Safe & Compliant Environments

Regular air quality testing is essential for maintaining safe and compliant environments. Poor air quality can lead to contamination risks, failed audits, and operational downtime.

02

Identify Problems Early

Our environmental testing service helps identify issues before they become critical problems. This ensures your systems continue operating safely and efficiently.

03

Confidence in Your Compliance

With professional air quality testing, you can be confident that your facility meets national standards. This is especially important for hospitals, laboratories, and pharmaceutical environments where air quality directly impacts patient safety and product integrity.

FAQS

1. What is professional air quality testing?

Professional air quality testing is a controlled process used to measure airborne particles, contaminants, and environmental conditions in sensitive spaces like hospitals, laboratories, and cleanrooms. It ensures your facility meets required safety and compliance standards.

2. What does air quality testing measure?

Air quality testing measures airborne particles such as dust, microbes, and other contaminants. It also checks airflow performance, pressure differentials, and filtration efficiency to ensure your environment remains safe and controlled.

3. What pollutants do professional air quality tests measure?

Professional tests can detect dust particles, microbial contamination, airborne bacteria, and other microscopic pollutants that may affect cleanrooms, medical environments, and pharmaceutical production areas.

4. What are the national air standards in Australia?

In Australia, air quality and cleanroom environments are typically assessed against AS/ISO standards such as AS/ISO 14644 series. These standards define acceptable contamination levels, airflow requirements, and testing procedures for controlled environments.

5. What equipment do air quality testing labs use?

Air quality testing labs use calibrated particle counters, airflow measurement devices, pressure differential monitors, and contamination detection systems. All equipment must be regularly calibrated to ensure accurate and compliant results.

6. Why is NATA accreditation important for air quality testing?

NATA accreditation ensures that testing is performed to nationally recognised standards. It confirms that results are accurate, independent, and accepted by regulators, auditors, and industry bodies across Australia.

7. How often should air quality testing be done?

Most facilities require air quality testing every 6 to 12 months. However, high-risk environments such as pharmaceutical and hospital cleanrooms may require more frequent testing depending on regulatory requirements.
